There's a lot going on at the museum. It's way more interesting when the lines are broken and blurred. Unframed, unhinged, order upended, and chaos behind the velvet ropes. Please don't touch (unless you purchase it).
This painting was inspired in part by my time at The Ringling Museum of Art in Sarasota, Florida, where I worked in the early 80's. Judy Pfaff was a guest artist in The New Wing and part of her installation involved cutting an opening through an existing wall. The security team was concerned to say the least. I thought it was fantastic. The exhibit was a fascinating transformation of a normally sedate space.
